Mining ultrasonic flowmeters must clearly indicate the maximum allowable error range, generally requiring the repeatability error not to exceed 1/53 of the absolute value of the maximum allowable error.
Typical mining flowmeter accuracy can reach ±1%, with error thresholds adjusted according to working conditions in special scenarios.
Calibration Environment and Equipment
Environmental Conditions: Must be conducted in an environment free from strong magnetic fields and vibration interference, avoiding the influence of equipment such as water pumps and frequency converters.
Straight Pipe Section Requirements: The length of the upstream straight pipe section at the installation point should be ≥10 times the pipe diameter (10D), and the downstream section should be ≥5D.
Bidirectional Measurement Calibration
If the flowmeter supports bidirectional measurement (e.g., mine drainage and injection), both forward and reverse flow must be calibrated separately.
Special Considerations for Mining Scenarios
Explosion-Proof and Protection Requirements
Ensure the flowmeter has mining intrinsic safety explosion-proof certification, with a housing that meets anti-static and flame-retardant requirements.
The protection level should reach IP68 to adapt to damp and dusty underground environments.
Installation Adaptability
Clamp-On Sensors: Pay attention to pipe wall thickness and material; for old pipelines, single-path (Z-method) installation is recommended to improve signal stability.
Pipe Diameter Adaptation: If the actual pipe diameter differs from the calibrated pipe diameter by more than 2 times, an additional 0.5% error must be added.
Signal Interference Handling
Avoid installing sensors at welds or joints, and keep them away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., frequency converters).
Maintenance and Calibration
Regular Calibration
On-site calibration is recommended every 6 months, adjusting the flowmeter coefficient via software (the adjustment amount must be recorded in the calibration certificate).
Troubleshooting
If the signal is lost, check whether the sensor coupling agent has failed or if the installation position has shifted.
